George "Foots" Frey
December 1, 1949 - November 4, 2016

George "Foots" Frey, 66, of Burlington, died at 6:12 PM Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Great River Hospice House.
Born December 1, 1949, at St. Francis Hospital in Burlington, he was the son of George John and Dorothy Ann Brust Frey Sr. On November 29, 1985 he married Alice Hillyer in Las Vegas, NV.
George was a 1968 Graduate of Notre Dame High School and a 1970 Graduate of De Vry University of Chicago. He worked for 33 years for General Electric as a Tester retiring in 2005.
He was of the Catholic Faith. George was a member of Eagles Lodge # 150, was inducted into the Burlington Bowling Hall of Fame. He enjoyed bowling; golfing, yard work, and when he was younger helped mowing the 6th Street Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Hillyer of Burlington; two sisters, Marti (Mike) Woodring and Debra R. (Dave) Hensley of Burlington; one brother, Dennis J. (Tara) Frey, of Burlington; Goddaughter Regan Lohman of San Diego, CA; nieces and nephews, Milo (Ying) Benigno of Irvin, CA, Melissa ( Brian) Petersen of Burlington, Amber Almendinger of Indianapolis, IN, Justin (Annie) Frey of Burlington, Todd (Jill) King of Des Moines, Tony King of Des Moines, Chad (Carrie) King of Urbandale, Lisa (Sandy) Freeman of Indianola, and Damon (Tiffany) Hillyer of Winterset; several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM Monday, November 7th, at Lunning Chapel, with visitation following with the family until 8:00 PM.
The memorial funeral service for George Frey will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 8th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and plants memorials have been established for Great River Hospice House, Special Needs Foundation, and Burlington Junior Bowling League.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
