Bernice Crooks-Wirth, 49, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Olaf Church with Pastor D.C Darensbourg officiating.
Bernice is survived by her children, Ja'Lyssa Crooks of Toledo, Ohio; Edward Crooks; Ja'lexus Crooks; Bertrice Crooks-Maharas; Precious Crooks-Newsome all of Fort Dodge; Bertice Crooks-Maharas of Forest City; Ebony Dorenkamp of Belmond; sisters, Christine Howard of Milwaukee, WI; Bernice (Chester) Pepper of Duluth, MN; Marylin Hameed of Chicago, IL; Citrenell Cox; Barbara Crooks; Chriss (Carlos) Crooks-Rocha; brothers, Johnny Crooks Jr; Jimmy Crooks Sr. all of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Kay'sia Traylor; Armani Al-Hameed; Elliya Cabbell-Crooks; Kyron Ivey-Crooks; host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Ina Jean Crooks; husband, Larry Wirth; sister, Juilenne Davis; brother, Joseph Crooks Sr; niece, Angel Hameed andnephews, Colby Crooks-Pettigrew and Christopher Crooks.
Bernice Crooks was born May 13, 1967 in Fort Dodge. She was raised in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1986. After graduation, Bernice attended Iowa Central Community College. Bernice worked as a CNA at Greenleaf and the Villa Care Center. She also worked at Frigidaire for a short time. Bernice was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church. She was married to Larry Wirth on May 13, 2013. She loved music, singing, and visiting with family and friends.
Memorials may be left to the direction of the family.
