Jennifer Jan Seymour
August 23, 1964 - January 6, 2017

La Valle, WI
Jennifer "Jenn" Jan Seymour, 52, of La Valle, WI, passed away Friday Jan. 6, 2017, at UW Madison Hospital, after a brief but valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 23, 1964, in Rochester, NY, to Pamela Deuel and the late Donald Seymour. Jenn lived most of her life in California until 2007 when she made the big move to Wisconsin.

Jennifer was a beautiful, loving, unique and confident woman with a brilliant mind who lived life to the fullest. She had an enormous love for all animals, especially her own "babies" and also loved spending as much time as possible out on the water in the warm sunshine. She enjoyed traveling, preparing excellent food, and spending quality time with family and friends, including those in California, Florida, upstate NY and Canada. Jennifer enjoyed watching the GB Packers and was thrilled to attend her first game at Lambeau Field in the Fall of 2015.

Jennifer took much pride in her professional work history and achievements, which included being a supervisor at Tri-County Regional Center and a senior project manager and executive assistant at Tejon Ranch, both in California. After moving to Wisconsin, she opened and operated Logger's Café and Pizzeria. Jennifer was also the clinic manager and executive assistant at North Country Veterinary Clinic and case manager at JELD-WEN Windows and Doors. She loved her current career and work-family at Alliant Energy.

Jennifer is survived and terribly missed by the love of her life and partner, Dawn Brace, and their "babies", Cleo, Colbie Jade, Jessie, Kingsley, Nugget and Tigger, of La Valle, WI.; her mother, Pamela Deuel (John Hunt); stepmother, Rose Seymour; sister, Audrey Seymour; brother Cody Zettl; uncle, Geoffrey (Jacqueline) Deuel; 2 nieces; multiple honorary nephews and nieces; best friends, Janet Prohaska, Eric and Cindy Bahr; and many wonderful family and friends. Jennifer is preceded in death by her father, Donald Seymour, maternal and paternal grandparents, sister, Nicole Stevens and Uncle Peter Deuel.

Following Jenn's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Life Celebration is being planned to take place in NY this Spring. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Jennifer's name to any animal rescue/care facility, including but not limited to Delaney's Dog 17144 Lanark St. Van Nuys, CA 91406.

A special thank you to everyone that loved and supported us during this very difficult time and throughout Jennifer's life. Also, to Dr. Steven Rose and the caring staff at UW Madison Hospital, Dr. Gary Anderson and staff at Reedsburg Urgent Care and Jennifer Heimdahl and staff at Cress Funeral Service.

"Jennifer was the beloved first granddaughter and great-granddaughter. And how her mom's cousins (including me) loved it when she came to visit. Later we had an exciting trip to the wilderness together. As I recall, it was a rough hike! I'm so glad, Dawn, that we were able to have that great visit a few years ago. So special. Jennifer was a dear sweet woman, and fearless in many ways. Bless you as you recovery from this great loss. "

"I was very shocked and sad to learn of Jenn's passing. I met her at the vet clinic in Phillips, and she was always so kind and caring. I would see Jennifer and Dawn out at Sunset Bay in Phillips and always had good talks about our dogs. I will miss seeing her smiling face. My sympathies to Dawn and all of Jennifer's family at this sad time. "

"My condolences to family and friends. I only knew Jennifer in a phone conversation we had back in 2006. I was writing a biography of her uncle and recall her being friendly and co-operative as she shared fond memories. I'm sad to hear of Jennifer's premature passing. May she find peace and love as she continues her spiritual journey. Best wishes, Paul Green"
