I hope Maria reads this as I was not able to speak, too well, when I met her. I have known Ian for as little as 10 years or for as many as 15, when last we spoke about it, neither one of us could remember. His smile always lit up the room and he always made it a point to seek me out just to say "Hi" when he was in the store. Such a cool guy with a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful soul. Not only was his departing a loss to his family but it was also a loss to an entire community. So many people I have spoken to knew him and will miss him greatly. My heart goes out to Maria and their children, my prayers are that they will find peace and happiness again. Rest in peace, Ian you will always have a special place in my heart."

"Ian, you gave true meaning to the words "family man". You loved your family to a fault and I am so proud to call you my brother. Sometimes it felt like you were the bigger brother instead of the other way around.
You listend, advised and gave your opinion, which I always valued and appreciated. We spoke about everything and I will miss our weekly talks. Charmian, Chantal and I are already missing you dearly. While you continue to sleep in eternal peace, I will put a smile on your face when you see some of the things we about come to fruition. One love ??'?
Ricky"

"My sister, Meryl, called me yesterday and gave me the sad news. You're gone. You're really gone. I have to keep repeating this so that, at some point, perhaps it will make sense. Dad loved you. Meryl loved you. I loved you. Your directness. Your honesty. Your absolute trustworthiness. And your laugh that came from deep within. You were rare and wonderful and far too young to die. You enriched our lives, and for that I'm forever grateful. It was an honor, a privilege and a joy to know you. Good-bye, Ian. May your memory be forever blessed.... "

"So difficult to fathom that you could be gone....you had such a special relationship with my father Aaron for years while he lived in Fort Lauderdale, sometimes like father and son, sometimes like best friends. You were always there when his boat broke down, or to talk about engines, or to plan an upgrade. But what I most remember was the last time he fell trying to get out of his boat when he was pushing 90 (or maybe he was 90 already!), and he called you, and you came down and just picked him up like a baby and carried him to his apartment. You had the broadest shoulders of anyone I know-- physically AND emotionally. The world will miss you, your sons will miss you, but may Maria be strong. May you visit with my dad at the shoreline of heaven until the rest of our family and yours join both of you there....."

"Ian, I guess heaven was badly in need of an angel that's why God took you away. This whole situation seems so surreal. We will miss hearing your voice, your laugh and your constant jokes and advice. No one made more fun of me like you did. Continue to rest in peace in heaven!"
