"FAREWELL CLIFF January 3, 2009 Where do I begin, Cliff and I met when we were in 5th grade. We went through all the boyhood rituals like who was the strongest, fastest, funniest, Cliff won that hands down, no one I have met has ever topped Cliffs humor, as far as the other things who cared. It was like we knew from a young age that we would truly be best friends for life. We even went one step further than being best friends we became blood brothers, I pricked his finger and he pricked mine neither of us had the nerve to inflict pain on ourselves we pushed our fingers together and swore that we would be brothers, family, and best friends for life. This is one promise we both kept. Cliff and his father lived off Haverhill extension, in those days it was in no mans land the house was located on 20 acres and surrounded by woods, thatâs what made it so much fun to go there. I had a pony named Scout, I would ride Scout to Cliffâs house and the good times would begin. Mr. Brady would let Cliff and me drive cars, shoot guns, go skinny dipping in the shell pits these are ponds made from excavating shell rock, we would build big bonfires and dance around them singing chants, these are memories that I will never forget and I thank Mr. Brady and Cliff for sharing all of these wonderful times with me. After Jr. High School I was sad because Cliff and Mr. Brady moved to South West Palm Beach. Cliff went to Forest Hill High and I went to Palm Beach High. It was tuff going into a new school without your best friend especially one that always had your back covered, however we always stayed in touch with each other. After High School I went into the Marines and Cliff to the Navy, We had lost touch with each other during this time. After being discharged from the service we were reunited, we swore to never go this long without contacting each other. Through the years Cliff and I have been in business together, watched our children grow up together, and reminisce as to how blessed our lives have been. Cliff was one day older than me, he would always say to me, Mark you know I am your elder and you have to show respect to your elders. Little did Cliff know that I respected and loved him with all my heart. Clifford, I thank you for being such an important part of my life, Farewell for now old friend, until we meet again in Heaven I will never forget you. Your Beloved Friend, Mark Everman"
