William J. "Bill" Marx
November 19, 1946 - March 14, 2015

William J. �"Bill” Marx, 68, of Englewood, Florida, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015. Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 19, 1946. In 1965 Bill joined the United States Marine Corp and served four years and received metals for National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign, Good Conduct and Rifle Marksmanship. He then was transferred to USMCR and honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in 1971.
Bill went on for training with the Federal Aviation Administration for air traffic control and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Adelphi University in NY. His education included National Environmental Policy Act for Federal Managers at Duke University, NC. He has been a program coordinator for Air Traffic Quality Assurance Staff Eastern Region Air Traffic Division, Manager of Environmental Programs Division with Office of Airspace Management, Program Manager of Civil Operations Office, Special Projects Officer at JFK for the FAA, and Air Traffic Manager LaGuardia Air Traffic Control Tower, NY. Bill also worked as a U.S. Government representative to six Native American Nations and ten Native American Tribes regarding air tour routes over Grand Canyon National Park from 1996-2001.
Bill moved to Englewood, FL in April, 2008 and volunteered with maintaining of Indian Mound Park as well as the Buchan Annual Fly-In.
He is deeply missed by wife Christina Sabatelli Marx, sons, Billy Marx & wife Cindy of NV Tommy Marx & wife Jen of CA, step-children E.J. & Travis Webster & Riccalina, and grandchildren Parker, Shaleigh, Chase, sisters Cathy Barrett of NJ, Joan Hennessey of NY. & father John Marx and all nephews, nieces & extended family and friends across the United States.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life with Military Honors is on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 6:48 pm, an hour before sunset, at the Veterans Memorial Park On the Bay at the end of Dearborn Street in Englewood, FL, coordinated by Lemon Bay Funeral Home.
