Ralph James Rich
December 24, 1929 - February 7, 2011

Ralph James Rich, 81, of Englewood, passed away unexpectedly February 7, at his home. The son of Earl A. and Bertha (Lundeen) Rich, he was born December 24, 1929, in Galesburg, IL. Graduating from high school in 1947, he served honorably from 1950-1953 in the US Amy during the Korean War. Returning from Germany, following his discharge, he earned his BS degree from Bradley University in 1957, in Peoria, IL.

He married Dorothy Clarke in 1954 and for 34 years served as an accountant and corporate secretary at Arbie Scooter Feeds in Marshalltown, Iowa. Retiring to Englewood with his wife in 1994, he remained active with golf, regular poker games with friends and was a member of both the Englewood United Methodist Church and the American Legion.

Mr. Rich leaves behind his lovng wife of Englewood, five daughters, Valerie DeVolder (David), Stephanie Robinson (David), Gretchen Taylor (Tom), Caroline Hildreth (Jim), Allison Darvis (Joe), six grandchildren and sister, Carol Hertenstein. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and brother, Dean A. Rich, of Pinehurst, North Carolina.
