MUSCATINE, Iowa - Margaret Patricia Rinnert, 89, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, at her home.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Honorary bearers will be Megan Cox and Jordan Cox. Casket bearers will be Jeff Rinnert, Nate Rinnert, Logan Rinnert, Grant Rinnert, Daryl Sywassink, and Martin Paul. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Patricia was born on March 17, 1927, in Cedar County, the daughter of James and Anna VanZandt Garvin. She married Edmond Rinnert on April 26, 1945, in Iowa City. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2007.

She worked alongside her husband, farming her whole life and enjoyed farming, cooking, baking, gardening, doing ceramics, embroidery, and taking trips throughout the United States, France, Switzerland, West Germany, the Netherlands, and England.

Those left to honor her memory include two sons, Gerald Rinnert and wife, Linda, and Kenny Rinnert, all of Muscatine; one daughter, Marilyn Rinnert of Ithaca, New York; four grandchildren, Nathan Rinnert, Jeffrey Rinnert and wife, Melissa, Megan Cox and special friend, Tim Moore, and Jordan Cox; two great-grandsons, Logan and Grant Rinnert; and two sisters, Phyllis Behrens of Tipton, and Shirley Campbell and husband, Don, of Solon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; and two sisters.
