Michael W. Kowinski
October 27, 1942 - February 6, 2017

Michael William Kowinski,
74, of Carmel, Indiana departed this life Monday, February 6, 2017. Mike was born October 27, 1942 in Detroit, MI to the late John and Martha (Jones) Kowinski. After earning his degree from Indiana University, Mike entered the United States Navy and was commissioned as Junior Grade Lieutenant. He subsequently served during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Marathon as an engineering officer.
Upon his return from Vietnam, Mike completed a Master's Degree in Finance at Indiana University. He worked for many years at Eli Lilly & Company in the Finance Department, and was a longtime member of St. Luke Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucrecia "Rosy" Kowinski, and her son, Fred Nasrallah, whom he dearly loved. Mike is survived by his brother, David Kowinski and a host of dear nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mike will be from 10:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 8th at St. Luke Catholic Church. Interment follows at Washington Park North Cemetery.
