Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 14th at Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger. The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Bank Plus: 201 W Robbins St, Graettinger, IA 51342 %Jeff Oliphant Memorial Fund.
Jeffrey E. Oliphant, son of Maxine Marie (Thompson) Buchholz and Phil E. Oliphant was born April 16, 1982 in Independence, Iowa. He attended Pocahontas High School and Iowa Lakes Community College where he received a degree in construction. On November 28, 2015, Jeff was united in marriage to Brooke Gale Edwards at Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger.
Jeff ran the columns line at Energy Panel Structures in Graettinger. He loved his job and the people he worked with. Jeff enjoyed riding horses, four wheeling, cooking, dancing and fishing. After a stressful day, he liked to take a peaceful drive with his pups, listening to music. More than anything, Jeff loved to spend time with all of his family - his nieces & nephews, and especially his daughters and Brooke.
On February 8, 2017, Jeff passed away in Graettinger, IA.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brooke of Graettinger; parents: Maxine Buchholz (Phil) of Pocahontas, Phil Oliphant (Cathy) of El Reno, OK; daughters: Summer, Lillian and Madlyn; maternal grandparents: Edwin and Judy (Wittenberg) Thompson of Winthrop, IA; paternal grandfather, Dale "Papa" Oliphant of Rowley, IA; sister, Cayla Marie Frerk of Pocahontas; father and mother-in-law: Gary and Debbie (Harris) Edwards of Graettinger; three step-brothers: Austin Buchholz of Truesdale, IA and Landon & Reese Botchlet of El Reno, OK; step-sister, Stephanie Daughenbaugh (Ron) of Cibolo, TX; step-sister-in-law, Caitlin Buchholz of Storm Lake, IA; brother-in-law: Bob Edwards (Amber) of Graettinger; sister-in-law: Ashley DeMoss (George) of Graetinger; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Connie (Peck) Oliphant and his step-brother, Cole Buchholz.
