MADISON-Esther L. Olsen, age 97, passed away on Feb. 9, 2017, at Karmenta Nursing Home. She was born in Evansville on December 3, 1919, the daughter of the late Jens and Anna Nelson of Evansville and Madison.
Esther graduated from Evansville High School in 1937. She came to Madison and worked at the Wisconsin Telephone Company and later at Woolworths and Manchesters. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and XYZ Club.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her sisters, Clara, Bertha, Alice, and Evelyn; brother, Leonard and his twin sister, Leona; and sister-in-law, Delores Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, WI on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 10:15 am. A visitation will be held at the cemetery chapel from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Shropshire and Karmenta Health Center staff for their exceptional care for Esther's personal care.
