Immediately following high school he proudly served in the US MARINE CORP being honorably discharged in 1983. Pete married Rhonda Coghlan on August 18, 1984, in Cedar Rapids. They later divorced. Pete worked in the Heating and Cooling field for several years. Later he worked in construction and held many handyman jobs. He was an incredibly hard working man and was very talented with his hands.

Pete was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, Morel mushroom hunt and deer hunting. He was also an active frisbee disc golfer in the Cedar Rapids area.

Pete was at his best in the company of small children. It was then that the playful/goofy part of his personality would appear. He would do whatever it took to make a baby smile or a toddler giggle. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

"Pete, I am going to miss you so much. I can't even imagine all the hunting seasons we shared without you. You were one of a kind and there was nothing wrong with that. Josh thought a lot of you and talks about everything you taught him and the stories you two shared. Love you my dear brother, will miss you forever. Thanks for everything. Love Sis"
