Margaret Nancy Witthuhn
November 20, 1922 - February 24, 2017

Margaret Nancy Witthuhn, age 94, Green Bay, died peacefully surrounded by her children on February 24, 2017. She was born in Laney, Wisconsin on November 20, 1922, to Richard and Jennie (Smith) McGillivray. She was a graduate of Pulaski High School. After graduating from high school she pursued her teaching degree from Kaukauna Teacher's College and taught at Frank Dorn School in Rose Lawn.
On June 5, 1948, Margaret married the love of her life, Robert G. Witthuhn at Angelica Methodist Church and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage raising 5 children.
Margaret was an integral part of creating and operating the family business, Stadium Citgo, located across from Lambeau Field for 43 years.
Her hobbies included creating art out of her jigsaw puzzles, which she shared with her family, reading, backyard gardening and creating her wonderful strawberry jam. Margaret found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Margaret and Bob also enjoyed many wonderful trips around the country.
Margaret took great pride in being a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church family for 60 years. She participated on many committees during the development and growth of the church, and enjoyed being a leader of youth groups and a teacher in the Sunday School program. She instilled that same devotion in her children.
Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her five children, Becky Diederich, Bradley (Gail) Witthuhn, Charles(Susan) Witthuhn, Janice (Thomas) Flegel, and Sue (David) Bernarde; one very special niece, Nancy Wood; 13 grandchildren, Ronald Diederich, Jennie (Scott) Hoffman, Jill Witthuhn (RC Froistad), Gregory (Jessica) Diederich, Scott (Krissy) Diederich, Joseph (Katie) Witthuhn, Nicole (Jason) Fonder, Eric Witthuhn (Courtney Hull), Jaclyn ( Jake) Peters, Stefanie (James) Nelson, Julie ( Matthew)Flanagan, Morgan (Ben)Wolfgram, Brett Bernarde; 20 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Michaela, Kayli, Quinn, Kooper, Raina, and Reese Diederich, MacKenzie Hoffman, Grace and Megan Peters, Grayson and Josie Fonder, Griffin and Mady Wolfgram, Nolan and Camden Flanagan, Bellamy and Etta Witthuhn, Roman, Rhea, and Troy Nelson, Cole and Ty Froistad; one loving sister Charlotte Olson, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, father and mother-in-law, George and Hattie Witthuhn; three brothers, Angus, Curtis, and Malcom McGillivary; sister-in-laws, Doris Witthuhn, Claire McGillivray, Rachel McGillivray, Dolores McGillivray; brothers-in-laws, Carl Witthuhn and Orville Olson.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1150 Echo Lane, Green Bay, WI. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm with the Reverend Robb McClintock officiating. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery, Laney, Wi.
In lieu of flowers, the family will create a memorial in Margaret's memory, to be designated.

"Having known Becky, Ronnie and Jenni for many years, watching them grow into fine young adults it is with sadness that they have now lost their grandmother.
