Raymond G. Genin
April 27, 1922 - March 14, 2017

Raymond George Genin, age 94, of Madison, WI died on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 peacefully at home. Raymond's family celebrates his victory over the constraints of his physical decline, knowing
he was welcomed into heaven by a loving Savior.

Born on April 27, 1922 in Belleville, WI, Ray was born and raised on the family farm southwest of Verona, WI. During World War II, Ray served in the Navy in the South Pacific for three years. Upon his return from service, Ray returned to farming before joining The NCR Corporation where he had the pleasure of working for 38 years until his retirement. Ray was a member of the Knights of Columbus #4527 and served the community for 45 years. On February 12, 1949 Raymond married Marian Kathryn Royston in Madison, WI. During their 67 years of marriage they welcomed four children into their family. Ray enjoyed planning and taking his family on summer vacations. They traveled by automobile throughout the United States visiting state capitals, camping in the National Parks, and adventuring on canoe trips throughout northern Wisconsin and the Minnesota Boundary waters.

Raymond is survived by his children, Kathryn (Timothy) Zweifel, Patricia Conrad, and Timothy (Kim) Genin; his seven grandchildren, Brian Zweifel, Jeremiah (Suzie) Genin, Andrew (Olivia) Genin, Christopher Genin, Jessica Conrad, Jeffrey (Gretchen) Conrad, and Kristin (Will) Rawley; nine great-grandchildren, Darian and Zachary Zweifel, Micah, Samantha, and Isaac Genin, Isabella and William Genin, Lila and Harvey Rawley, and two sisters Violet Genin and Elizabeth (Robert) Merkel.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marian Kathryn Genin, and his son Thomas Jeffrey Genin.

The family would like to thank Brian, Andrea, and Michele of Agrace Hospice for their continued care and support as well as Dr. Michael Frontiera who kept attentive interest in Ray's wellness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, WI 53717 with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Military Honors and a luncheon will follow the mass. Entombment will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum, Madison.
