"I met Gary at Agate Days in Moose Lake. I was living in Lake City at the time and he agreed to have lunch with me and assess my Son's agate collection. We shared his love for agate picking and we learned a lot from Gary and appreciated his friendship. I was fortunate enough to go to his house and see many of his agates as well. He really was a fun guy and I will miss him. Tom Lindh, Houston, Mn."

"Marc Siem Gary and I were in the same grade at Phelps Elementary School, and of course their Basketball team. As the Center, I would most often try to tip the ball towards Gary, as I knew he would make the maximum effort to drive drive to the net -every time. There was no such thing as a partial effort for Gary. Any time we would bump in to each other in the following decades, he was always the same easy going, soft spoken person I would remember from way back then. Gary was one of the "Good Guys", and I wish all the best for his family."
