In loving memory of

Marian Joan Powers
May 13, 1924 - March 16, 2017

Born in Bear Creek, Wisconsin, in 1924, Marian Joan Powers died peacefully March 16, 2017, in Kirkland, Washington. A devoted mother and grandmother, Marian spent most of her life in Seattle, where she and her husband John Powers raised Patrick and Ann in the spirit of the Catholic Church. Growing up on her parents' farm as one of six children, Marian developed a sense of adventure. She spent her young adulthood working in Chicago and San Francisco, where she met John. They married in 1958 and settled in Magnolia, where Marian became an active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. After John's death in 2006 she moved to Bothell, Washington. Known for her quick wit and sparkling smile, Marian delighted all whom she encountered at the Foundation House and later at Aegis Lodge of Kirkland. She enriched the lives of her grandchildren Meghan, Erin, Tatum, and Bebe, daughter-in-law Cindy Powers and son-in-law Eric Weisbard, and the large extended family that enjoyed her cheerful presence. Funeral services for Marian will be held Thursday at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3218 W. Barrett St., Seattle. Donations in her name can be made to Catholic Community Services of Seattle.
