In loving memory of

Karrol Marie Wenzel
November 28, 1943 - March 19, 2017

Karrol M Wenzel, 73, died Sunday, March 19 at her home in Goodview. Karrol was born November 28, 1943 in Winona to Francis and Margaret Hengel. She grew up in Winona where she met and married Ronald Wenzel on April 24, 1965. They had two wonderful boys, Chad and Jason.
Karrol worked at Lake Center and then Winona State for 30 years in the computer department.
After Karrol retired she spent a lot of time volunteering at the Winona Area Humane Society. During her time there she acquired a few cats. Once they had 3 cats in the house they decided she should cut back on her volunteering time to avoid acquiring any more pets.
Karrol was a wonderful cook. Her meals and recipes will be passed down for generations to come. Her Wednesday night family meals will be greatly missed.
Aside from her love of cats her true love was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved everything about being a grandma, including her vast collection of porcelain dolls, going to the casinos and garage sales.
Karrol is survived by her husband, Ron; sons, Chad and Jason (Chelsie); grandchildren, Cody (Mariah), Nick, Zach (Michaela), Mikey, Paige, Cameron, Whisper, Jordan, Tanker and Kimmy; great-grandson, Montreal; siblings, Richard (Ada) Hengel and Randi (Bill) Reinarts; uncle, Michael Hengel; nieces, Lauri Roach, Cyndi Wehlage, Carla "Charlie" (James Burkhalter, Jr.) Hengel; great nieces and nephews, Brittany Dworschak, Shelby Hengel, Tre Wehlage, Noah Roach, Jacob Hengel, Nathan (Happy) Hengel; great-great nephew, Ezekial Stevens. Karrol is preceded in death by her parents.
Karrol will be missed by special friends, Dianne Huff, Sandy Creeley, Nancy Malotke, Joan Kierlin and her "Sister of her heart", Laurie Hostettler.
A memorial service for Karrol will be held 11:30 AM, with visitation starting at 9:00 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Private family interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.

"Ron and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have been thinking of that terrible morning ever since. I was one of the 1st responders that worked on Karol that morning. I am so glad my EMT partners came along. I was having trouble focusing and their presence was very much appreciated. It was the first time I have ever done CPR on someone I knew. God just wanted her to join him in heaven. My heart goes out to Ron and especially the granddaughter that was there that morning. Jim LaRue "
