Pauline Marshall
May 28, 1926 - April 3, 2017

Pauline Marshall, 90, of Mount Pleasant, formerly New London, died Monday, April 3, 2017, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born May 28, 1926, in Cave City, Kentucky, she was the daughter of George Walker and Minnie (Johnson) Locke. On December 26, 1946, she married James D. Marshall in Kilduff, Iowa. He died July 18, 2013.

Mrs. Marshall was a 1944 graduate of New London High School.

Mrs. Marshall was a homemaker and joined her husband in most of his endeavors, whether teaching the Dale Carnegie Course, bible classes or promoting the Southeast Iowa World War II Honor Tour. She also owned and operated Bresler's Ice Cream in the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kansas for several years. She loved working crossword puzzles. She was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include one daughter, Jo Swain of Mount Pleasant; one son, J.D. (Bobbi) Marshall of Grayson, GA; five grandchildren, Mindi (Brian) Smith of Castle Park, CO; Eric (Kristi) Miller of Lilburn, GA; Brandi (John) Gordon of Grundy Center, IA; Tyson (Brandon) Sliger of Ocoee, FL; Jaime (Jason) Yates of Duluth, GA; fourteen great-grandchildren, Carter Smith, Walker Smith, Fischer Smith, Mitchell Miller, Mallori Miller, Matthew Miller, Michael Miller, Reece Gordon, Colin Gordon, Emmalee Sliger, Rylee Sliger, Brynlee Sliger, Nathaniel Yates and Donovan Yates.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Riley, Forest, Earl and Claude; and three sisters, Beatrice Lance, Blanche Brimhall and Joye Beckman and one great-grandson.

Per her wishes, there will be no service. Burial will be at a later date in Burge Cemetery in rural New London. A memorial has been established for the Dover Museum in New London.
