Dorothy M. Jones-Switzer

Dorothy M. Jones-Switzer, age 90, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Schneck Medical Center of Seymour.
Born on March 28, 1927 in Columbus, Indiana she was the daughter of Earl Fluharty and Clara (Risk) Beveridge. On October 20, 1944 she married Bob Jones who preceded her in death on September 3, 1999. On January 4, 2003, she married Elwood Switzer who has also preceded her in death.
Dorothy was loving mother and grandmother, and was a former owner of Seymour Decorating Center, where she spent many years helping area residents decorate their homes and offices. She enjoyed painting with watercolor and almost often created scenes of Brown County. Brown County has been a place of special meaning throughout her life. Spending summers with her grandparents near Pike's Peak was lifetime memory and she later shared her love for that area with her own family, gathering mushrooms and persimmons, and fishing from creeks and ponds.
She is survived by her son Brian (Pat) Jones; a sister: Earlena Koster, 5 grandchildren Amanda Hopping, Jacob Hopping, Erin (Adam) Brooks, Morgan (Joe) Hartwell and Ellen Jones; 6 great-grandchildren; Bode, Cole, and Brynna Brooks, and Riley and Rhett Hartwell. and a sister-in-law Pat Fluharty.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son Steven Jones, a daughter Barbara Leanne Jones, sister Frances Leventzen, brother, Don Fluharty, and brother-in-law, Donald Koster.
Funeral Services will be held at Voss Chapel on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 10:30 am with Reverend Jon Carlstrom officiating.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 and on Tuesday after 9:30 am until time of the service.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to The American Cancer Society or donor's choice in care of Voss and Sons Funeral Service.
