In loving memory of

Gloria H Boyer
January 3, 1927 - April 10, 2017

Gloria H. Boyer, age 90 of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. She was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on January 3, 1927 to the late Arthur and Hazel Schlemmer.
As a young child, Gloria's family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended school and met her future husband, Douglas L. Boyer, Sr. Business opportunities brought them to Indianapolis, Indiana where they started their family. Gloria was active within their community and for several years managed the Westchester swimming pool which her children spent their summers with friends.
In 1970, the family was transferred to Chardon, Ohio where Gloria continued her love for crafting and began to develop her love for tennis. When the retirement years approached, Gloria and her husband moved to Punta Gorda, Florida to enjoy their time in the sun. By joining a tennis team at Fisherman's Village, Gloria was able to improve her skills on the court and played the game of tennis into her 80's. Another passion which Gloria cultivated was her love for painting with oils and painted over 100 paintings which she shared with her family and friends.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 69 years, Douglas (Lance) Boyer, Sr., their three children, Douglas Boyer Jr. (Deborah), Kimberly Sykora-Pryor, and Janine Jasper; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Bettye Seyfried and brothers, Gene Schlemmer and Donald Schlemmer.
