Lloyd S. Maifeld
September 21, 1931 - April 12, 2017

Lloyd S. Maifeld, 85, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, Iowa. He was born September 21, 1931, in Butler County, to Henry G. and Lillie May (Harris) Maifeld.

Lloyd attended Butler County country schools and barber school. He was united in marriage to Lillian Rathmann on November 28, 1955, in Latimer, Iowa. To this union, two children were born. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lloyd worked as a barber, farmer, and a bus driver. He had a Des Moines Register Sunday paper bundle haul. Lloyd was a past member of the Lion's Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lloyd also enjoyed driving the school bus, being a "Santa Helper", drinking coffee, making popcorn and running the fruit stand.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter Linda (Chris) Boehmer of Riverside, son Larry (Linda) Maifeld of Newman Lake, Washington, brother-in-law Art Sessler of Parkersburg, nephews Duane (Becky) Maifeld of Hubbard, Dennis (Teresa) Sessler of Parkersburg, nieces Bonnie (Cindy) Sessler of Janesville, Marilyn Sessler (Kenny) Wyant of Waterloo, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lillian, sister Lavola Sessler, brother Norman Maifeld and his wife Imogene, brother Merwyn Maifeld and niece Virginia Maifeld.
