William Cook
June 24, 1922 - April 9, 2017

William J. Cook, 94, of Venice, FL passed away April 9, 2017. He was born June 24, 1922 in Lewiston, Maine and moved to this area in 2008 from Bloomington, IL. He worked at Country Companies Insurance in Bloomington, IL and previously for Allstate Insurance and Connecticut General. He was honorably discharged from the US Coast Guard in 1946 after serving 4 years during WWII.
He enjoyed playing and watching golf, playing bridge, traveling, was an avid reader and loved his dog named Cookie. He was a member of St. Marks Church in Venice, FL
He is survived by his children Tom Cook, Portland, OR, Sharon Cook Aspland, Englewood, FL and David Cook, Johns Creek, GA and his sister Mary Louise Abel, Simsbury, CT, daughters in laws JoMarie Cook and Vicky Cook, Portland, OR and grand children Josh Aspland, Samantha Aspland, Jeff Cook, Jessie Cook, Ryan Cook and Brandon Cook. He was predeceased by his wife Ann Cook on April 3, 2014 and his brother Robert Cook.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday April 19, 2017 ath the St Mark's Episcopal Church, 508 Riviera Street
