Frank A. Aidala, age 95, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 01, 2014 at TenBroeck Commons Nursing Home where he was lovingly cared for during the final months of his life. He was born in New York City, son of the late Harry and Nellie Lanzafame Aidala.
Frank graduated from Kingston High School and attended the Spencer Business School. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 - 1946. A Product Analyst for 33 years, he retired from IBM in 1987. He was an active parishioner of Saint Joseph's Church, a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and American Legion. He volunteered at the Rondout Visitors Center for many years. Frank was also an avid New York Yankee Fan.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Marie Lang Aidala; his children Gary Aidala and companion Kate Luther of Kingston, Donna Brady of Town of Ulster, James Aidala and his wife Desiree of Davenport, IA, Alan Aidala of Kingston, Ann Policastro and her husband Albert of Hurley and Paul Aidala and his wife Mary of Dallas, TX; a sister, Josephine Higgins and her son Charlie and family of Kingston; grandchildren Michael & Lindsay Aidala; Kyley Faulkner and her husband Kyle; Shane Aidala and his wife Chelsea; Cody Aidala; Brianna and Shea Policastro, Ava and Samantha Aidala, and Alison Reid. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Brady and Evan Faulkner, Eva Kandall and his former daughter-in-law, Judy Aidala, Scott Ricketson and family, along with many nieces and nephews. His son-in-law, William R. Brady died previously.
Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston where friends and family will be received on Monday, May 5, from 3 - 7 PM. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 6 at 9AM and will proceed to Saint Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Dominick Lagonegro at10AM. Internment with military honors will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
