In loving memory of

Beverly Werts
April 19, 2017

Beverly Helen Werts, 88 years old, Beverly passed away April 19th, 2017, in Bothell, Washington.

She was born August 11th, 1928 in Havre, Montana. However, Beverly called Seattle home from an early age.

It is impossible to sum up a lifetime into a few inadequate words. It is also difficult to put the depth of emotions that revolve around feelings and memories of all the times shared together into those words. To find a way to voice the totality of those moments both good and not so good into a composition that hopes to express those feelings and memories into competent words is a difficult goal, so I will do only what I can and be as brief as I can.

At this time my family recalls the times and memories spent with the woman who was our mother and grandmother and great grandmother. We fondly remember the life and joys of Beverly Helen Werts (my mother).

She impacted so many during her life. She will be remembered by so many that I can only fail to truly transcribe the summation of that impact. To those who new my mom, they can attest to the fact that she was a great friend and fun to be around. The children she worked with during her employment with Shoreline School District love her immensely. She loved to talk! She loved to sing. She loved family and extended the feeling of being part of that family to many friends and neighbors.

Beverly had a very full life. Sometimes a difficult life and many times a joyful life. A life we all can be proud to have been a part of.

She was born to a small rural community in north central Montana, she always recalled those times with good memories. She did a large part of her childhood in Ballard (a suburb of Seattle) and was very proud to have been part of that Norwegian Community. She had friends that lasted her life and will to this day, miss her and her smile and sense of humor.

She married a Marine and lived in California. It was there that she raised two children. I'm pretty sure that I was the most challenging. Again, she gained friends that to all of us were much more than friends. They were and are family. She suffered through having to watch her husband go to war in Korea and Viet Nam.

She lived in Shoreline Washington were she watched her children grow and leave the nest. The was a paraprofessional with Shoreline School District and work for a long time with challenged children. She loved touching those lives with her selfless acts. During this time she also lost her husband.

In her later years, she was grandmother to three and great grandmother to one. As I remember her I will strive to put forward in my mind the positive notes that she planted. Her Norwegian stubbornness will be passed to her family in their stubbornness to not forget, but stubbornly remember.

Beverly was preceded in death by Albert E. Werts husband of 46 years. She is survived by Pamela (Werts) Olson, Douglas Werts, Grandchildren Emily Williams, Nicholas Werts, Michael Olson, Great Grandchild Elliot Williams and brother Glenn Anderson.

Memorial service will be held at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home on April 24th, 2017 at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.

Good bye Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend! We will miss you greatly!
