Dorothy Jane Olson
May 9, 1927 - April 19, 2017

Dorothy Jane Olson, age 89, of De Pere, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She was born on May 9, 1927, in Green Bay, to the late Frank and Alma (Giese) Stascak. Dorothy married Jack "Chum" Olson on May 20, 1950 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Together Dorothy and Chum celebrated 48 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in 1998. She loved spending time with her family and friends at home and at her cottage in Channing, Michigan.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Wendy (Dennis) Tischendorf, Jeffrey Olson, Pamela (Patrick Sr.) Byrne, and Eric (Pamela) Olson; grandchildren, Patrick Jr. (Laura) Byrne, Ryan (Michelle) Byrne, Richard Byrne, Clay (special friend, Mallory Kallas) Olson, and Jessica Tischendorf; great-grandchildren, Anabelle Byrne, Henry Byrne, Sawyer Byrne, and Sophia Byrne; sister Fern Stary; sisters-in-law, Patricia Berg and Lee Stascak; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Jack "Chum" Olson; brothers, Francis (Ann) Stascak, Robert Stascak, and twin brother, Donald Stascak; sisters, Eleanor (Curt) Stiles, Marie (Adolf) Liebert, Erna (Wesley) Cullen, and Marcella (Gordon) Malliet; brothers-in-law, Noel (Irene) Olson and Ronald Stary; sister-in-law, June (Glenn) Erdmann; special friend, Terry Byrne; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave., from 4:00 p.m. until the time of prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Eric Hansen officiating. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1167 Kenwood Dr., at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Parlow officiating. There will be NO visitation prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name.
Dorothy's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bellin Home Health, Unity Hospice, and all of her caregivers over the past several months.
