Stephen Leo Robinson, 70, of Hampton, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa.
He was born August 22, 1946, in Austin, Minnesota, to Leo and Margaret (DeFrees) Robinson. Stephen graduated from North Fayette High School in West Union, Iowa. He attended North Iowa Area Community College and Upper Iowa University. Stephen was united in marriage to Shirley Klisart on November 4, 1972 in Ossian, Iowa. To this union, two sons were born. Stephen served his country in the U.S. Army and Iowa Army National Guard. He worked many years as the manager/administrator of the Hampton National Guard Armory. Stephen was a work manager at Access, Inc. and a CPA at Pearson CPA Firm. He volunteered for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Stephen was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Kiwanis. He was very active in Hampton-Dumont athletics as a statistician for many years. Stephen enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, as well as a Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan.
Stephen is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Rob (Megan) Robinson of West Des Moines and Randy Robinson of Hampton, grandchildren CiAnne Robinson, Miley Robinson and Zander Robinson, sister Joan (Jerry) Boeding of Waverly, brother David (Elizabeth) Robinson of Ames, sister Kathleen (Bennie) Johnson of Evansdale, sister Janet (Dean) Reiners of Council Bluff, sister Carolyn (Tom) Pfiffner of Waterloo, sister-in-law Nancy (Dale) Schwickerath of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers in infancy and two nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hampton-Dumont Scholarship fund.
