"Della was the best friend that I could of ever had.We became close friends when I came back to Pilgrim Rest 7 years. I visited Della every day and talked to her everyday. I loved hearing her southren draw of her voice and seeing her bright smile. She was never to busy to share her opinion on what she thought. She never came to answer the door she just howled"Come on in girl" . That was my Della, plain, and simple. She always had something cooking and wanted to share a meal and visit at her kitchen table. She was my buddy RIP....MY DEAR FRIEND."

"My favorite memory of sister Della as I have always known her as was the first time I ever saw her in person. I started going to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church three years ago and I always heard them ask to keep her in our prayers and would hear updates on her but I had never met her at that time until she was able to come back after her surgery. It was such a wonderful day and a blessing to see her able to come back and be with us. I always loved seeing her smile and laugh and sing. It was very inspiring to see how happy and strong and faithful she was even through all she was going through. I am also very thankful I was able to join our church family in going down to visit her a few weeks ago and see her one more time. My heart goes out to Brother Elmer and their family and friends. You are all in my thoughts and my prayers. God bless you all! "
