Mr. David T. "Dave" McCreight, 49, of Sperry, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Born June 4, 1960 in Burlington, he was the son of Jack and Patricia "Pat" Smith McCreight. On August 22, 1981, he married Lori Upton at Lori's parents' house in West Burlington.
Dave was a 1979 graduate of Danville High School. He was the owner and president of Summit Supply, Inc. since 1991. Dave was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, flying hot air balloons, walking on top of his balloon, metal and woodworking, sprint cars, racing and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Lori McCreight of Sperry; one son, Daniel McCreight of Sperry; one daughter, Jessica McCreight of Burlington; one grandchild, Maximus Gerst; his parents, Jack and Patricia McCreight of New London; sister, Kathy (Richard) Blackett of Oakville; paternal grandmother, Mildred McCreight of Winfield and aunts, uncles and nephews.
His maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather and a niece preceded him in death.
Friends may call from noon until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service for Dave will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 26th, in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Michael Orthel officiating.
A memorial has been established in memory of Dave.
According to Dave's wishes, his body will be cremated following the funeral service.
