CLEONE SNIDER
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Cleone Snider, 94, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Premier Estates.

A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Kathy Othmer. Online condolence's: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Cleone was born on March 24, 1923, in Grinnell, the daughter of Carl and Jennie Lewis Speth. She married Norman V. Snider on May 23, 1942, in Des Moines. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1996.

She retired from Madison Elementary School as the school secretary. She was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church and MARSPA. She was a volunteer at the Musser Public Library and also delivered Meals On Wheels. She enjoyed having lunch and swimming with her lady friends, loved to read, playing bridge, and traveling with Norman. She especially enjoyed watching the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include one son, Vince Snider of London, England; two daughters, Kathy Othmer of Muscatine, and Nancy Overstreet and friend, Jesse Bromsen, of Kalona; six grandchildren, Jeff Othmer and wife, Gina, of Muscatine, Liz Blashaw and husband, Derek of Exeter, California, Will Overstreet and wife, Laura, of Cedar Falls, Tim Othmer of Muscatine, Jen Snider of London, England, and Owen Snider of London, England; eight great-grandchildren; and one special niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son-in-law, Jerry Othmer.
