Billy McCloy Jr., 89, of Baldwin, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at his home in rural Baldwin, Iowa.
A public graveside service and burial celebrating Billy's life will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, May 5, 2017, at the Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. There is no public visitation. Cremation has taken place. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
William (Billy) McCloy was born on August 10, 1927 in Jackson County, Iowa, to William Sr. and Bernice (Risden) McCloy. He married Darlene Lee on July 30, 1950 in Maquoketa, Iowa. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2003.
Billy farmed with his wife in the Baldwin, Iowa area for many years. He had also worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, Iowa. Billy enjoyed socializing and liked to work on lawnmowers.
Those left to honor Billy's memory include his brothers, Allen (Charlotte) McCloy of Monmouth, IA, and Larry (Liz) McCloy of Maquoketa, IA; a sister, Rachel Paysen of DeWitt, IA; and his longtime girlfriend, Nancy Brewster of Baldwin, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, an Billy McCloy memorial fund has been established.
