Donald Earl Osborn
August 17, 1929 - April 30, 2017

Donald E. "Bubby" Osborn, age 87, of Prairie City passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at The Shores in Pleasant Hill. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie City Christian Church. Burial will follow at Waveland Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m.at the church. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie City Ambulance or Suncrest Hospice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

Don was born on August 17, 1929, on a farm in Decatur County, Iowa, to Joe and Mabel (Moore) Osborn. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1949. On March 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Moomaw. They resided in the Prairie City area their entire lives and this is where they raised their three daughters. Don was a longtime member of the Prairie City Christian Church. He also belonged to the Odd Fellows in Prairie City and served as a trustee for 40 years in the Walnut Creek Fire District. Don loved farming, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his wife Marilyn; daughters, Sherry (John) Trunnel, Patti (Bruce) DeRaad, and Vicky Osborn; grandchildren, Jason Trunnel, Aaron (Deanna) Trunnel, Bret (Erin) Shultz, Lori (Adam) Mickle, Tony (Morgan) DeRaad, Josh (Nicole) Fraker, and Angie (Michael Graham) Bennett; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Umble and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Don in death were his parents, Joe and Mabel Osborn; brothers, Eugene Osborn and Paul Osborn and brothers-in-law, Loren Moomaw, Lionel Wiggins and Mark Umble.
