Judith F. Daniels, 77, of Maquoketa, and formerly of Baldwin, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday morning, May 2, 2017, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Bellevue, Iowa.
Judith Faye Keil was born on January 15, 1940 in Bellevue, Iowa, to George and Esther (Paulsen) Keil. She attended Bellevue schools and married Delbert L. Daniels on May 6, 1956 in Bellevue, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Steve, Mark, Barb and Lura.
Judy had first worked at Ensign Coil in Bellevue for several years and then at the Savanna Army Depot. She lastly worked at the Baldwin Locker from 1974 to 1981. She then became a stay-at-home mom and grandma.
Judy was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa and the Merry Knitters Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, bird watching, cooking and listening to KMAQ Radio. She especially enjoyed her morning coffee with her neighbors.
Those left to honor Judy's memory include her children, Steve (Cindy) Daniels of Maquoketa, IA, Mark Daniels of Maquoketa, IA and Lura (Mike Duhme) Daniels of Zwingle, IA; 7 grandchildren, Brenda Huffman, Missie (John) Vaughn, Katie Daniels, Joshua (Sierra) Daniels, Will Baker, Zach Baker and Taylin Baker; and 5 great-grandchildren, Reighan Huffman, Alexa Huffman, Isabella McNamee, Alayna Daniels and Eli McNamee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert on April 20, 1994, a daughter Barb on October 4, 1981, brothers Norbert and Darrell, and a sister Alice Downey.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Judith F. Daniels memorial fund has been established.
