Marie E. Mellencamp
December 28, 1935 - May 5, 2017

Mrs. Marie E. Mellencamp, 81, of Seymour, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 at 5:05 p.m. at SchneckMedical Center with her family by her side at Schneck Medical Center.
She was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on December 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian M. (Lurvey) Weber.
On October 18, 2006 she married Donald Mellencamp, Sr. in Seymour.
She was a member of Mountain Baptist Church in Seymour. Marie had been employed as an LPN, a waitress at the Maid Rite in Seymour and had worked in several factories. She loved working in the yard, gardening, doing puzzles and crocheting.
Marie was a wonderful homemaker and she loved her family and friends. Marie served for 14 years with Provisions Food Pantry and 10 years with New Life Ministries of New York, making scarves for the homeless.
She is survived by her husband Donald, children; Daniel (Margie) Luckey, Beth (Mark) Brock, Charles (Karen) Reynolds, Joe (April) Luckey and Dessa Luckey( Bobby Ray), step children; Donnie (Brie) Mellencamp, Mike (Stacy) Mellencamp, Jamie Mellencamp, Debbie (Brian) Burke, Teresa Sanford, Tony (Kay) Mellencamp, 28 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, son, Matthew Sabourin; siblings, Joe, Lester and Kenneth Weber, Louise Jumper and Lydia Weber; 3 grandchildren, Josh Huddleston, Jeremiah Luckey and Andrea Luckey.
A private family graveside service will be at Riverview Cemetery.
A memorial service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service, at the Mountain Baptist Church(4604 US HWY 31) Seymour on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., with Reverend Van Breeding officiating.
Family and friends may gather at the Church on Wednesday after 4:00 p.m., until time of the memorial service.
Memorial checks may be written to the Mountain Baptist Church, through Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
