Rosa Shepfer
August 4, 1924 - March 1, 2017
Rosa Dene Shepfer, 92, Indianapolis, passed away March 1, 2017 at Robin Run Village. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on August 4, 1924 to the late Resin and Mabel Graham.
Rosa married Robert Shepfer on October 17, 1948 and together they had 2 children, Graham Shepfer of Bloomington and Susan M. David of Spokane, Washington. She also leaves behind a granddaughter, Rosa Dene David.
Rosa Dene was a woman of many interests. She practiced handwork of all kinds, especially weaving and knitting and loved all things nature including bird watching and gardening. For nineteen years, she worked as a clerk for the Indianapolis Marion County Library. Rose Dene was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis in the choir and where her husband Robert serviced as Organist Choir Master. She was an active member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Rosa Dene was active in Recovery Groups as a leader in the International Mental Health Organization. She lovingly volunteered at global Gifts, St. Vincent Hospital and Holliday Park.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN, on June 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Her remains will be interred in the family plot at Defiance Cemetery in Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society, National Wildlife Association and CARE.
