Marilyn Scott, 86 of Macedonia, IA, passed away on May 12, 2017 at the Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs, IA.

FUNERAL SERVICE - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Macedonia United Methodist Church. Burial in the Macedonia Cemetery.

VISITATION - 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson, IA.

Marilyn Martha (Schroeder) Colman Scott, one of two daughters of Carl and Vera (Schoening) Schroeder, was born on June 22, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She grew up on farms in the Mineola and Glenwood, Iowa areas before moving to a farm west of Macedonia, Iowa, when she was 11 years of age. Marilyn graduated from Macedonia High School in 1948.

On August 22, 1948, Marilyn married Lawrence Colman. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Beverly and Mark. The couple was married for 35 years, when Lawrence passed away in 1983.

Marilyn was a faithful member of United Methodist Church, UMW, Sigma Gamma Club, Jolly Dozen Club, Council Bluffs Friends Club and two card clubs. Throughout her life, she worked at various places in Macedonia; Dyes Mercantile, Macedonia school, Macedonia Post Office, Pilling Oil and Skelgas. Marilyn had many interests and loved to be "on the go". She loved to sew, read, play cards, cook garden, use her computer, and being a homemaker. Marilyn especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

On August 4, 1990, Marilyn and Max Scott were married. They did much traveling and covered many states in their 5th wheel while traveling with their special group of friends. The couple once spent an entire month on a bus trip to Alaska.

Marilyn and Max were married 18 years when Max passed away in 2008.

Marilyn passed away on May 12, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 20 days. In addition to both husbands, Lawrence and Max, she was also preceded in death by her parents.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Beverly (John) Claey of Laguna Vista, TX, and Mark (Doreen) Colman of Carson, IA; grandson Jacob Colman and Sharon Auw of Omaha, NE; granddaughter Molly Claeys of Omaha; great granddaughters, Jaedyn and Sydney Colman; sister Rogene Moon of Glenwood, IA; sister-in-law Joan Scott; brothers-in-law, Mark Scott, Burl (Lois) Scott, and Larry (Vera) Scott; nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
