Geneva Marie Zippe

Geneva Marie Zippe, 95, of Burlington, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her son's winter home in Zapata, Texas.
Born June 18, 1921 in Louisa County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Earl Delmar and Florence Frances (Lundvall) Charbonneau. On December 19, 1945, she married Harry LaVerne Zippe in Wapello. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2014.
Mrs. Zippe was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on their family farm, raising livestock, tending garden, preserving food and raising her family.
Survivors include one son, Glen (Karen) Zippe of Burlington; two daughters, Letha (Clifford) Reif of Burlington and Georgia (Bernie) Laue of Wapello; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one niece and her beloved pug, Billy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Zippe will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 19th, at First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ, 1221 Park Ave., Burlington with lunch at the church to follow. Rev. David Yonker officiating.
A private family inurnment will be at a later date at Edwards Cemetery near Oakville.
