Frank J. Schuh

Frank J. Schuh, 70, of Trempealeau, WI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Hillview Nursing Home in La Crosse after a short battle with cancer.

Frank was born June 3, 1946, in Galesville, WI to Leo and Kathleen Schuh. Frank graduated from Healy Memorial High School of Trempealeau in 1964, and went on to UW Madison College of Agriculture where he received a Third Year Certificate in the Short Course before joining the U. S. Army to serve his country in Vietnam.

He married Doreen Richer May 2, 1970, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galesville, WI. They spent many years dairy farming in the Ettrick and Fountain City area until a farming accident forced Frank to retire from his passion in 1987. Farming was life for Frank and he helped-out local farmers right up until his health kept him from doing so.

Frank is survived by his mother Kathleen Schuh of Galesville, WI., two daughters and one son, Jeannette (Dave) Schreier of La Crosse, WI., Rose (Jason) Schuh-Dodge of Rochester, MN., and Leo (Cindy) Schuh of Eyota, MN., along with his grandchildren Taylor and Jordan Schreier of La Crosse, WI., Ethan and Eric Schuh of Cochrane, WI., Caleb and Efrem Schuh-Dodge of Rochester, MN., and Dorian Schuh of Eyota, MN. He is further survived by two brothers and four sisters, Richard (Therese) Schuh of Tomah, WI., Barb Gatzlaff of Fountain City, WI., Kathleen (John) Harvey of Winona, MN., Annette (Fred) Schwertel, Bibiana (Gary) Klein both of Galesville, WI., and Joseph (Kerri) Schuh of Trempealeau, WI.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Doreen Schuh, son Michael Schuh, father Leo Schuh, brother George Schuh, and brother-in-law Dave Gatzlaff.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 1 - 4 p.m. at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, Winona. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Pine Creek, WI on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 1:30 pm with visitation one hour prior.  The family would like to thank all of Frank's friends and family members who came to visit him during his illness. They would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hillview Nursing Home for the attentive care he received during his stay.
