Leo Michael Cornick
May 2, 1942 - May 17, 2017

Mike Cornick, 75, of Harrison, Arkansas and Glenwood, Iowa and formerly of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, passed away on May 17, 2017 at the Glenwood Lake Park RV Campground in Glenwood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church with Father Dan Siepker officiating. Military honors will be held following the Mass. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church with Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Loess Hills Funeral Home of Glenwood in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are directed to the family.

Leo Michael Cornick, one of four children of Leo Mark and Elsie Viola (Shumaker) Cornick, was born on May 2, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He attended school and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving stateside during the Vietnam era. Mike was employed as boilermaker for 20 years and was a member of the Boilermaker Union Local 83.

Mike and Deloris Ann Jipp were united in marriage on November 24, 1965 in Kahoka, Missouri. They were blessed with two children, Teresa and Mark.

Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching NASCAR. No one was a stranger after meeting Mike. He enjoyed cooking and barbecuing. Mike and Deloris loved to travel in their RV. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grand kids and attending their sports events.

Mike passed away on May 17, 2017 at the Glenwood Lake Park RV Campground at the age of 75 years and 15 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Teresa Miller in 2007; and sister Ann Shima.

Mike is survived by his wife Deloris Cornick; son Mark Cornick and wife Kaylee of Glenwood; six grandchildren, Jeremy Janecek, Ashley Janecek, Desiree Larson, Zach Miller, Caitlyn Cornick and Matthew Cornick; six great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Bell and husband Frank of Fairfield, IA, and Sally Bell and husband Roger of Roseburg, OR; other relatives; and a host of friends.
