Nancy Lee Brandt was born on September 13, 1932, near Rodman, Iowa, to Roy and Minnie (Kober) Doty. Nancy received her early education from Rodman Consolidated Public Schools and graduated from West Bend High School in 1950. Nancy then worked as a store clerk in West Bend for the next six years.

Nancy met her future husband, Alvin Brandt, at a Ballroom and the couple was later married on January 15, 1956. They moved to Titonka to live on the Brandt family farm where they raised dairy cows, pigs, chickens and also row cropped. Nancy always helped around the farm and had a vegetable garden, providing canned vegetables for the family. In 2006, the couple moved to Forest City and after Alvin passed away, Nancy became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City.

Nancy had a great sense of humor and was a Skip-Bo fanatic. She enjoyed her time with her friends in Titonka and in Forest City. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time at Sunday family dinners and viewing family pictures and videos posted on Facebook. Nancy loved the time they spent wintering in Arizona, visiting her sisters in Missouri and California and visiting the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend.

She is survived by her children, Gary Brandt of Forest City, IA, Judy (Brad) Colschen of Gales Ferry, CT, and Becky (Mark) Stumme of Forest City, IA; grandchildren, Chris Colschen, Liz (Bryan) Young, Jackie (Troy) Seekamp, Jennifer (Chad) Beyer and James Stumme and special friend (Leah Neal); great-grandchildren, Ryan Steenhoek, Ian Beyer, Brooklyn Seekamp and Jackson Seekamp; sister, Betty Shank; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Marie.
