Lee G. Waag
September 3, 1934 - May 17, 2017

Stoughton- Lee G. Waag, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home. He was born in Stoughton on September 3, 1934, the son of Gilman and Valborg Waag. Lee graduated from Stoughton High School in 1952. He worked at Greig Machine Shop for several years. Lee's passion was farming. He purchased his grandfather's farm where Lee was born and worked the land for over 50 years. Lee was married to Audrey Lund, who preceded him in death in 1986. In June 1989 Lee was united in marriage to Jean Furseth Leikness. Lee is survived by his wife, Jean; four step sons, Steve (Sally) Knickmeier, Greg (Kris) Knickmeier, Jerry (Linda) Leikness and David Leikness; five step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; siblings, Arlyn (friend, Mary), Nola (James) Skaar, and Micky Waag; many nieces and nephews; relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Audrey; and brother, George. A Celebration of Lee's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Skaalen Home Chapel, 400 N. Morris Street, Stoughton. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon reception, immediately following, at the Stoughton VFW Post 328. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of services at Skaalen. A special thank you to Lee's devoted nephew, Jon Waag, for his care and companionship.
