Born in Ketchikan, Alaska on June 23, 1931 to James and Augusta Shelton. Died May 19, 2017 in Seattle, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings William Michael, Harry Arthur, and Margaret Charlotte.
He is survived by Janet Ann (Currie), his loving wife of 65 years, their children Ann Lorraine (Steve) Marsh and Michael McDowall (Marilyn McPhee); grandchildren Lisa (Spencer Schomaker), James, Julia (fiance; Greg Majovski) (Marsh), Emily, Patrick and Andrew (Shelton).
A Seattle University graduate ('53 & '61), he was professionally associated with the Seattle Public Schools, United Way of King County, Seattle Indian Center and St. Benedict School. He also served on the boards of Ida Culver House Broadview and Foundation House Northgate.
