MUSCATINE, Iowa - Esther R. Stuart, 94, of Muscatine, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May, 20, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017, at St. Mathias Church. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish. Esther was born on January 14, 1923, in Ossian, Iowa, the daughter of William J. and Rose A. Geling Uhlenhake. She married Raphael Moellers on May 6, 1943, in Ossian. He preceded her in death in 1966. She married Glen Stuart on July 12, 1973, in Nashua. He preceded her in death in 2006.

She was a member of Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish, Catholic Daughters of the Americas-Joan of Arc Court 524, Bloomington Grange, Woman of the Moose, Ambassadors Club, with whom she traveled to many countries. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and many varieties of needle work.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Waneta Montgomery and husband, Roger, of Davenport, Loyal 'Bill' Moellers and wife, Catherine, of California, Myra DeWulf of California, Lynn McClamon and Renee Elliott and husband, Scott, all of Muscatine; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her long time care giver, Tina Last, and her close friend, Pearl Salek. Also the nurses at MICU East at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one son-in-law, Jack McClamon; and one brother Ivan Uhlenhake.
