Artie Nease
September 30, 1939 - June 12, 2017

Artie G. Nease, 77, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away June 12, 2017. He was born September 30, 1939 in Newport, TN, to LaRue and Nora Nease. Art served in the US Air Force in Crete, Greece. In 1972, he moved his family to Florida from Berea, OH. After moving from Brandon to Port Charlotte, Art joined the Charlotte County volunteer fire department and eventually changed careers from bank manager to full time Firefighter/EMT where he served for 21 years before retiring in 2001. He was the president and founder of Local #3060 International Association of Fire Fighters.

Art loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, especially fishing. He and Janet enjoyed traveling in their RV with family and friends. Most of their RV travels involved traveling to different states to build homes with Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of New Day Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Nease; children, Mark Nease, Douglas (Brenda) Nease, Debra Nease, and Neal (Andrea) Nease. He was Papaw to Justin (Liz), Amanda, Simon and Nicholas Nease.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, June 16, at New Day Christian Church, 20212 Peachland Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33954. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Habitat for Humanity, New Day Christian Church, or Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte.
