Roberta Joyce Boeshart
July 2, 1937 - June 10, 2017

Roberta Joyce Boeshart, 79, formerly of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Excelsior, Minnesota.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, IA with Rev. Paul Andell officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in rural Allen, NE. Visitation with family present will be on Friday, June 23 2017 from 5:00P.M-8:00P.M with Prayer/Eastern Star service at 7:00P.M. at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.

Joyce was born on July 2, 1937 in rural Allen, NE, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Money) Fegley. She graduated from Dixon High School in 1955. She attended Wayne State College and received a two-year teaching certificate. Joyce then continued teaching at various school districts around South Sioux City, NE, including the Winnebago school district.

Joyce married Frank Boeshart, her high school sweetheart, in the middle of a snowstorm in Pierre, SD on January 2, 1960. The couple settled in South Sioux City, NE and raised three children. While raising her family, she continued her education at Wayne State College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education Degree in 1973. After 38 years of teaching, she retired and moved with her husband to Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, bird watching, and singing in numerous choirs.

She was a member of the Laura Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and participated greatly in P.E.O., the Philanthropic Educational Organization of Nebraska.

Survivors include children, Mary Farlow of Waconia, MN, Frank (Susan) Boeshart of Apple Valley, MN and Greg (Alicia) Boeshart of Allen, NE; nine grandchildren; sister and best friend, Janet (Jim) Kirchner of South Sioux City, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Boeshart; parents, Arthur and Mary Fegley; brothers, James Fegley, Keith Fegley; and sisters, Betty Albers, Ruth Sellin.

"We are so sorry to learn of Joyce's passing. We met her when Ed coached her son Frank. We also knew her as a colleague in the South Sioux School district. I believe she also taught one of boys. She was so dedicated besides just being a wonderfully fun person. Wish we could have been at the service."
