MUSCATINE, Iowa - Larry L. Ulch, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at the Zion Lutheran Church. A time of food and fellowship will be held following the service at the church. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Larry was born on April 11, 1938, in Muscatine, the son of Ardell and Jessie Christofferson Ulch. He first married Patricia Trimble and she preceded him in death. He married Dixie Bivens in 1971.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during 1956 until 1960 in Pakistan.
He worked at HON for 35 years retiring in 1998. He loved golf, boating, bowling, cards and was a sports nut.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Dixie Ulch of Muscatine; two sons, Everett Ulch of New Boston, Illinois, and Christopher Ulch and wife, Lori, of Muscatine; four daughters, Melody Rogers and husband, Thomas, Kelly Akins and husband, Ken, Julie Brown and husband, Jeff, all of Muscatine, and Tamara Bailey and husband, Michael, of Westfield, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.

"Larry was a great guy, I always enjoyed running into him. He was on the golf league when I first started golfing. It was my birthday, so he set up a hot pink ball on a tee for me on 17, because he was in the group ahead of me. It was the first par I ever got in my life! He will be missed.
