In loving memory of

Lamonte J. Arnold
February 19, 1953 - January 31, 2015

LaMonte J. Arnold of Story City died on Jan. 31, 2015 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, at age 61, after a sudden illness. Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, February 6, at Bethany Lutheran Church, McCallsburg, IA. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg, IA.

LaMonte was born 2/19/53 to Cleo (Bub) and Junis Arnold.

He graduated from NESCO High School in 1971 and worked for KEY Coop, in Zearing, Roland and Nevada, for 40 years, where he enjoyed his job and his co-workers.

Throughout his life LaMonte had many hard knocks, but always met them head on. Even after losing a leg in an accident, he maintained a very independent and active life. He golfed on league and took part in handicap tournaments.

He was a very special person to all who knew him. Judy Blattel was the love of his life. They've been together for many years and Lamonte took compassionate and devoted care of her. They were each other's rock.

Surviving LaMonte, are Judy, Judy's two daughters, Jennifer Holub and Callie Miller, both of Columbia, Missouri, whom LaMonte fondly referred to as, "his girls". Callie had four children, and to them LaMonte was their "Pondo".

He is also survived by two sisters, Connie Hardin of Ames and Ruberta Hughes of Loveland, Ohio. His sisters were very proud of Lamonte and his accomplishments. He leaves behind several nieces, nephews and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister at birth, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

Memorials may be made to Israel Hospice House, Animal Rescue League or the donor's choice.

LaMonte will be missed.

"Lamonte's was always the one I looked up to. He was like an older brother growing up instead of an uncle. Lamonte was always independent and strong and I loved him for that, even though my offer to help was always offered and usually turned down. Heaven has received a very special Angel!"
