MUSCATINE, Iowa - Donald C. Lindle, 87, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Sweetland United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at a later date at the Melpine Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Sweetland United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Sweetland United Methodist Church, Unity Point Hospice, or the International Heifer Project.

Donald was born on June 8, 1930, in Muscatine, the son of Clarence John and Mabel E. Healey Lindle. He married Willodene Faye Doerfer on June 19, 1955, at Sweetland United Methodist Church.

He was a farmer his entire life.

Donald was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Sweetland United Methodist Church for over 50 years, serving as an usher, greeter, and trustee. He was also a 50 year member of the Wilton A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #167, Muscatine Farm Bureau, Izaak Walton League, the VFW, and the American Legion. He served many years as a trustee for the Melpine Cemetery Association and the Wilton Township Trustee.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Willodene F. Lindle of Muscatine; one son, Bruce John Lindle and significant other, Lisa Young, of Muscatine; one daughter, Pam Askew and husband, Edward, of Muscatine; one granddaughter, Jamie Jones and husband, Kelly; two great grandsons, Wesley Edward Jones, and Colton Andrew Jones; sister-in-law, Bevelyn Lindle; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Richard Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Francis Lindle, and Vernon Lindle in infancy; one grandson, Christopher John Lindle; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Lindle.
