Herbert F. Boyd, age 82, of Berkeley Township passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at home.
Born in Maspeth, NY, Mr. Boyd lived in Flushing, NY prior to relocating to the Toms River area. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and an avid, passionate New York Mets fan. He worked in New York City as a Haberdasher and in the Hospitality Industry for over forty years.
He was predeceased by his parents Leonard P. and Dorothy Boyd. He is survived by his loving wife Martha Boyd; children Michael Boyd and his wife Nancy, and Karen Vivanco and her husband James; grandchildren Stephanie, Andrew, Peter, Taylor and Mickey Boyd, Justin, Matthew and Daniel Vivanco, Sara Atwood and her husband James, and Lauren and Megan Moy; great grandchildren Aaliyah and Ayriana Boyd; sister Madeline Helems; sister-in-law Gladys Azaceta; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial gathering celebrating Herbert's life will be held on Sunday, July 16th, 2017 from 1 pm to 5 pm at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A memorial mass will be offered on Monday, July 17th, 2017 at 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 130 Cable Avenue, Beachwood with internment of ashes at St. Paul immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org/Donate.
