Mary M. Potter, 82, passed away on June 19, 2017 in Illinois.

Public graveside services and burial celebrating Mary's life will be held at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the Canton, Iowa Cemetery. There is no public visitation. Cremation rites were accorded. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is assisting the family.

Mary was born on January 16, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. She was married to Arnold M. Potter for 36 fun, adventurous and loving years. Her career was 29 years with GTE (formerly Automatic Electric) in Northlake, IL as a circuit board inspector. After a brief time off she then became known as Miss K-mart. Then Mary spent 8 years in Florida with companion Ronald Mull enjoying the sunny weather, friends, attending church, and going on cruises. She also enjoyed time volunteering at Bayonet Point Hospital in FL before coming back to Illinois to be near her family.

Mary was surrounded by her children in passing: Bill, Earl, Donna, Mark, Sally, and grandsons Jason and Jeffory; Not to forget her favorite companion Missy Pup of 11 years. She had 9 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. She was Preceded in death by her parents James Harvard and Edna Pearl (Smith), Brothers George and Harvard, Husband Arnold Melvin Potter, and Grandson Gregory Mark Kamin.

Mary will be missed by everyone she knew and loved.
