In loving memory of

Kevin D. Mashl
August 2, 1958 - July 17, 2017

The most wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, Kevin D. Mashl, of Denmark, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017. He was 58, born on August 2, 1958, in Green Bay, to Roland and Vila (Heffner) Mashl. He graduated from Denmark High School in 1976, where at the age of 16 he met the love of his life, Gay Reedy. They were united in marriage on May 26, 1979, and proudly raised two beautiful daughters. He worked eight years at Nicolet Paper and during that time found a love for construction while having fun working with his father-in-law and brother-in-law. Together he and Gay created their business, Mashl Studs and Drywall in 1996. They worked side by side to grow a successful business. Kevin was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the Denmark Lions Club, and the Carpenters Union.
Kevin would do anything he could to help his friends, relatives, and neighbors. He was a kind man who had many friends. Kevin loved to have a good time and was the life of the party, whether it was with the corvette group, on vacation, camping, or just around home. He was also a hard worker and it showed in the perfection in everything he did. Kevin enjoyed his Corvette and looked forward to taking road trips. The highlight of his week was socializing on Friday night with steak dinners at Beverly Gardens with many friends, especially John and Louise. He was loved by many and enjoyed having booyah parties and making popcorn for everyone. He had a special love for his grandchildren. Kevin bought a tractor especially for them. He enjoyed giving them rides and teaching them to drive it. "That's worth a thousand bucks right there," he'd say. They also had fun riding with grandpa on his four-wheeler.
Kevin will be sadly missed by his wife, Gay; daughters and families; Carrie (Kelly "Chummy") VandenHouten and Holly (Lane) Whipp; grandchildren, Brody, Macey, and Shea VandenHouten and Kaylee, Jake, Olivia, and Madison Whipp; mother, Vila Mashl; sister, Linda (Wally) Jensen; brothers, Bob (Cheryl) Kallerud, Eric (Andria) Mashl, and Darren (Sue) Mashl; brother-in-law Lester Jaeger, sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Lowell Hansen) Reedy, Gail (Ron) LaBrec, Gloria (Kevin) Srenaski, Georgiana Hardy, Geni (Dennis) Villers, and Gwen (Tom) Behnke; mother-in-law Grace Reedy; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Mashl; sister, Debbie Jaeger; father-in-law, Glenn Reedy; brother-in-law, Gary Reedy; nephew, Taylor Hardy; maternal grandparents, Lester and Nellie Heffner; and paternal grandparents, Julius and Anita Mashl.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Road, Green Bay, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Calling hours will continue Monday, July 24, 2017, at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Viertel officiating. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation of your choice toward something from your heart.

"Gay, Carrie, Holly & families, Kevin was a vibrant silly presence. He was always welcoming & quick with a joke or remark that had most of us saying "Kevin!". I will always remember his story telling about how he started his love of construction with a small pamphlet about making a garage? Or singing loudly "I'm my own grandpa". He showed his love for all of you when sharing what you were up to, accomplished or were striving for. He will be missed! Sending our love & support to all of you as you work through this time & the future ahead together. Love, Suzie, Rob, Alyssa & Rachel. "

"If God ever made the perfect man, Kevin would be it. He was the kind of Father, GrandFather, Son, Uncle, Cousin that every man should strive to be. He loved Gay more than words can describe and cherished his children and Grand children like the jewels they are. He was pure Joy, dedicated, Loving, Kind, compassionate, hard working...there are not enough words. There are no answers as to why he left us too soon but he left behind nothing but Joy and Love. You're favorite Cousin, Brian"
